Hello all.

I would enjoy recording my college lectures, and was wondering if there is a powerful, intuitive, yet simple accessible voice recording application for the IPhone? Someone recommended HT Recorder, which I have discovered quite frustrating. Now, I am trying an app called audio memos, though know there are lots more.
Thanks for any assistance in advance.
Nathan.

Depending onyour iPhone, there should already be a voice memo app built in. The sound quality is decent and clear. I think it would be suitable for recording something like a lecture. You might want to sit somewhat near the prof (I.E it would not be the best if you were at the back of one of those huge lecture halls), but it works decently enough. Also, sincing the recorded content is a breeze - just connect the iPhone to your laptop or desktop and it will ask you if you want to sinc.
Just a thought.

There's also quickvoice. That's what I use personally. It has gotten much more accessible. You can email your files as well as putting them in dropbox. There are also microphones you can get for the Iphone which mightr be better for picking things up which are further away. I don't know much about that myself though.

I typically use DropVox. It's an app that will record in mp3 format, and then will automatically upload your recordings to Dropbox. I did a demo of it here if you want to see it in action with VoiceOver.

Hi Scott and others,

Thank you very much. My university is trying Cart or computer aided real-time translation this week so recordings might be unnecessary. Although I have brand-new hearing aids that are made for IPhone, I cannot understand the professors I have. Cart would solve this dilemma, but many institutions fail to implement such services because of how expensive captioning is. Also, have you guys heard of SimpleMic? I have been playing around with Audacity, but man, is it complicated. Lol.
